High Tatras / Low Tatras
After the revolution, the brothers Ivan and Roman, the natives of Liptov, came back to Czechoslovakia. They represented their country in skiing, and in 1984, they emigrated into Austria and later on to Australia. During their emigration and after finishing their skiing career, they started their own business with ski rentals and ski services. They became experts in this field of business. In addition, their know-how Ivan and Roman brought to Slovakia and began conducting their business here.
In their first season of 1990/1991, their very first ski hire and service were opened in the cottage of the local authority in Záhradky of the Demänovska valley in the Low Tatras. In June 1991, the company called Crystal Ski was found, which extended its activities on Štrbske Pleso in the High Tatras. The company added more activities into its repertoire. For example, a skiing school, skiing kindergarten, and sporting goods stores were added into company’s list of activities. At that time, we were the first company that began offering some summer activities — rafting, paragliding, horse riding, cycling, hiking and a school climbing. In 1995, we built a wood cottage on Otupne in the Demänovska valley, in which a ski hire and service were provided to customers.
The company had only two employees in its beginnings. They worked in the ski rental and service located in Zahradky. Nowadays, the company employs around 30 employees during a winter season. This number shows that Crystal Ski has been developing gradually by the increasing number of its ski rentals and schools. Also, it has grown in marketing and personnel politics. After 19 years of company’s existence on a market, the name CRYSTAL SKI has become a brand, which has been registered and patented by a trademark. The name Crystal Ski is well known and highly respected on the Slovak travel market. Company’s main activities are: rentals, service of sport equipment, a ski school, sporting good stores, and summer activities. In 2010, the company extended its business by offering accommodation in a guest house called Crystal Ski in Nova Lesna—the High Tatras. In addition, The company has its own travel agency, which offers vacation in Slovakia. All these activities demand high expectations of managing and marketing. Our first priority is constant increase of quality in providing our services. Therefore, we focus mostly on the quality and our employees’ professionalism. Our employees are flexible, creative and helpful to our customers.
The firm Crystal Ski follows its customers’ needs and the goal is to keep their trust and satisfaction.
